Luxury housing during war: who buys apartments in Taryan Towers

Taryan Towers is one of the most expensive residential complexes in Ukraine. Glass towers, a private school, swimming pools and apartments worth up to a million dollars. In recent years, these towers have been inhabited by Nadiya Orekhovska, Petro Hyrych, Tetyana Kicha, Yevhen Orlov, Larisa Nadeyena, Oksana Petlyovana, Ilya Brekhin and Svitlana Gubar.
Who are these people? How much money do they pay for premium housing during a full-scale war?

We tell you in a new BlackBox OSINT investigation.

The construction of the 35-story Taryan Towers residential complex, which according to the project consists of three of the tallest skyscrapers in Ukraine, began by the companies "Poznyakizhylstroy" and "Taryan Group" back in 2012. Today, two of the three towers of the complex have been put into operation, the second was commissioned during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine - in 2023.

In total, the residential complex, located in the center of Kyiv at 12 Ioanna Pavla II Street, provides 574 apartments, the cost of which is perhaps the highest in the country: from 200 thousand dollars without renovation to a million dollars with renovation and decoration. Homeowners here will have their own school and kindergarten, their own premium shopping mall and several swimming pools. Who are these people who buy housing in the most innovative building in the country during the war?

Apartment No. 337. How a pensioner from a village near Kyiv, Nadiya Orekhovskaya, purchased 90 square meters of luxury housing

So, let's get acquainted. Orekhovska Nadiya Evdokimivna is a 75-year-old pensioner who, until recently, lived in a small apartment in an ordinary panel house in the village of Kalynivka near Kyiv. She bought apartment No. 337 in the Taryan Towers residential complex with an area of 90.7 m² in February 2025. The cost of her apartment ranges from UAH 12,490,000 (about USD 302,420) without renovation to UAH 28,230,375 (USD 680,250) with renovation.

Nadiya Orekhovskaya has no shares in corporate rights, does not have her own business, searches for information about her in the open access on the Internet did not yield any results. According to the register of property rights to real estate, she owns only the above-mentioned apartment in Taryan Towers. An ordinary pensioner and a purchase worth tens of millions of hryvnias are incompatible things, right?

So, obviously, Nadiya Orekhovska is just a front person for whom such an expensive purchase was made in order to legalize money that has no official origin. Whose money is this then?

The pensioner's husband, 77-year-old Volodymyr Varionovich Orehovsky, is also an ordinary pensioner, registered in the same Kalynivka. Her daughter, 54-year-old Tetyana Gyrych, has had her own sole proprietorship since 2009, with the main activity being the leasing and operation of own or leased real estate.

Pensioner Nadiya Orekhovskaya's son-in-law, 61-year-old Petro Ilyich Hyrych, as of 2021, was registered in the village of Danylovka, Vasylki district, Kyiv region, at 4 Molodizhna St. One of his numbers in Getcontact is signed as "Life Hyrych Ukrsib", which may indicate his work at Ukrsibbank at one time.

Petro Hyrych is the founder and beneficiary of LLC "TG "Promtechservice", which is engaged in wholesale trade in agricultural machinery and equipment, parts and accessories for motor vehicles. The director of this company is his 34-year-old son, Maksym Petrovych Hyrych. This LLC systematically earns on state tenders: having received UAH 9.3 million from the budget in 2022, UAH 65.4 million in 2023, and UAH 157.8 million in 2024.

Volume of tenders won by LLC "TG "Promtechservice"
During the war years, LLC "TG "Promtechservice" won government tenders worth UAH 235,866,503 (USD 6,040,115). Opendatabot data

The company mainly wins tenders held by municipal enterprises, state institutions subordinate to city and village councils of various cities and villages of Ukraine, as well as military units. For example, in the fall of 2024, the company sold a mobile crane on a 6x4 chassis to the T0200 military unit for UAH 8.6 million, and to the T0300 military unit for UAH 9.35 million.

The Hyrych family owns several apartments in Kyiv, several parking spaces, and four premium Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and BMW cars worth between $40,000 and $60,000 each. Two of them were purchased in 2024 by Petro Hyrych's sons, Maksym and Andriy, for $135,000.

Interestingly, Petro Hyrych's youngest son Andriy also owns an apartment in the Taryan Towers residential complex, next to his grandmother's apartment: he has apartment No. 336, and his grandmother's apartment No. 337. Andriy Hyrych received his apartment in the capital's most expensive building under a gift agreement dated February 21, 2024, and the donor was his grandfather Volodymyr Orehovsky. The estimated cost of this apartment with an area of 90.5 square meters is 3 million 904 thousand 400 UAH (95,700 US dollars), which is almost 4 times lower than the cost of the neighboring apartment of the same area owned by Nadiya Orehovsky. Most likely, the grandfather and grandson agreed to reduce the cost of the apartment in order to reduce the tax amount.

One can only imagine how inflated the prices are for equipment and spare parts for it, which are sold by LLC "TG "Promtechservice" to state bodies and military units, that the Hyrych family managed to purchase two premium segment apartments in the Taryan Towers residential complex for over a million US dollars in just 2024. And, given that the Hyrych family is not registering these apartments directly, but through their relatives, pensioners of the Orehovskys, it is likely that this money does not have an official origin, and therefore it would not be out of place for anti-corruption authorities to check where the pensioners from the village of Kalynivka got tens of millions of hryvnias for perhaps the most elite real estate in the country.

Apartment No. 291. How the mother of bribe-taking lawyer Andriy Kichi bought an apartment in Taryan Towers a year after her son's release

Apartment No. 291 in the Taryan Towers residential complex with an area of 82.3 square meters was purchased in January 2025 by 68-year-old pensioner Kicha Tetyana Hryhorivna, an assistant to the former People's Deputy, and today the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny. She was also a member of the board of directors of the public organization "Feel", the founders of which are Andriy Pyshny and Olha Yaroslavivna Kudinenko. Tetyana Kicha, in addition, was an assistant to the People's Deputy of the 8th convocation from the "Popular Front" party, Serhiy Drayuk.

The cost of the apartment she purchased varies from 300 thousand US dollars without renovation to 600 thousand US dollars with renovation. Agree, it is unlikely that an assistant's salary would allow her to save so much money. Yes, Tetyana Kicha has her own business: since October 2021, she has been the founder, beneficiary and head of Tatio Consulting LLC, which is engaged in the purchase and sale of its own real estate. However, this enterprise, according to its financial statements, is unprofitable.

Tatyana's husband Volodymyr Kicha does not have a business and is not a public figure - there are no mentions of him on the Internet. But their son is a better-known person. 44-year-old Andriy Kicha is judge of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation, as well as a lawyer and a lawyer. At one time, he held the position of top manager of Burisma Group, and is also the founder, beneficiary and head of All-Ukrainian Legal Council LLC, which is also a super-unprofitable enterprise: in 2023, the loss of this LLC amounted to as much as 32 million UAH with an income of 1.6 million UAH.

But Andriy Kicha is not known for his refereeing in the Hockey Federation or his professional activities as a lawyer. In 2020, Andriy Kicha and two other people were detained by the NABU while trying to bribe the then head of the bureau, Artem Sytnyk, and the head of the SAPO, Nazar Kholodnytskyi, in the amount of 6 million US dollars to close the criminal case against Mykola Zolochevsky, the former Minister of Ecology of Ukraine.

In 2023, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine sentenced Andriy Kichi to 5 years in prison, but on the basis of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the court released him from serving the sentence with a probationary period of one year. Two years later, Andriy Kichi's mother bought an apartment in Taryan Towers for at least UAH 12.5 million.

Apartment No. 206. As a driver and market trader, Yevhen Orlov legalized at least UAH 12 million for someone

Yevhen Orlov, originally from the city of Kamianka-Dniprovska, Zaporizhia region, was engaged in retail trade from market stalls from 2007 to 2015 - he had an individual entrepreneur with this type of activity. In the Getcontact application, his personal number is signed, among other things, as "Zhenya Vody". He does not have his own business or shares in corporate rights in enterprises.

Meanwhile, in February 2025, Yevgeny Orlov bought apartment No. 206 with an area of 82.3 square meters in the Taryan Towers residential complex. As already indicated above, such an apartment in this residential complex costs at least UAH 12.5 million if it was purchased without renovation. The apartment was purchased by proxy by a certain resident of Zaporizhzhia, Kondratiev Oleksandr Serhiyovych, who is the founder, beneficiary and head of Baks Beer LLC, which is engaged in the retail trade of beverages in specialized stores and has never provided financial reporting to the state since its foundation in 2018.

So we have another front person — a driver or a market trader — through whom someone legalized a large sum of money of unofficial origin by purchasing an apartment in the most modern residential complex in Ukraine.

How Larisa Nadeyena, the owner of a beauty salon, found more than a million dollars for four apartments in Taryan Towers

Four apartments in Taryan Towers were bought by 62-year-old Nadeena Larisa Volodymyrivna, registered in the city of Dnipro. Three of them — apartments No. 303, 304, and 305 — she purchased in one fell swoop on November 23, 2023. The fourth — apartment No. 306 — she bought recently, on February 19, 2025.

The total area of all four of Nadeena's apartments is 304.8 square meters — like a whole big house. So, the woman spent at least 1 million 150 thousand US dollars on them — and this is assuming the apartments she purchased were not renovated.

Who is this Nadeena Larisa? The only information that is publicly available about her is that the woman is one of the founders with a 15.17% stake in Alina LLC, which provides hairdressing and beauty salon services. Is it possible to earn more than a million dollars on this for four apartments in the most expensive residential complex in the country? It is difficult to imagine, especially since this company has not submitted any financial statements since its founding.

Larisa Nadeena's husband, 73-year-old Dmitry Nadeen, has no stake in the business at all. The only clue to understanding what this pensioner does or used to do is that his personal mobile phone number is listed in the Getcontact app as "Dmitry Grigorovich Sto.".

The Nadeen couple's son, Oleksiy Nadeen, has a share of only 4.17% in the corporate rights of LLC "NVN Dnipro", which is engaged in the leasing and operation of its own or leased real estate, and which also does not demonstrate any financial reporting to the state. In addition, he is the founder, beneficiary and manager of LLC "Alex Group Agro Trading", whose main activity is wholesale trade in grain, unprocessed tobacco, seeds and animal feed. In 2023, this company earned a net profit of UAH 29.5 million, in 2024 - UAH 3.7 million. In total - much less than the cost of the apartments purchased by Larisa Nadeen.

Another company where Oleksiy Nadeen is one of the founders and beneficiaries is Salon Valentina, LTD, which is also engaged in hairdressing. This company earns little: only 200 hryvnias of net profit in 2023 and 400 hryvnias in 2024. Oleksiy is also listed as a director at Telnet Corp LLC. According to the financial statements of this company, it has not been making any profits at all since 2021.

Therefore, neither Larisa Nadeyena, nor her husband and their son officially have the financial capacity to purchase four apartments at once in the Taryan Towers residential complex. Therefore, the conclusion suggests itself: the apartments were purchased with illegal profits — either from the Nadeyena family itself, or from third parties.

Apartment No. 298. Pharmacist from Ternopil region Olena Petliovana

Apartment No. 298 in the Taryan Towers residential complex with an area of 61.6 square meters and a cost of 270 to 460 thousand US dollars was purchased by 35-year-old Olena Valeriivna Petlyovana on January 22, 2025. As of 2019, the woman was registered in the village of Vilkhivchyk, Husyatyn district, Ternopil region. Her mobile number in Getcontact is signed by subscribers as Lena Apteka, Olena Klyzub Apteka, Lena Farmakso, Klyzub Olena Apteka Farmakso, judging by which she works at LLC "Farmakso", which is engaged in the trade of pharmaceutical products, the founder, beneficiary and manager of which is Serhiy Oleksiyovych Klyzub. Most likely, Olena is an ordinary pharmacist or a pharmacist in a pharmacy, because, according to the registers, she does not have any shares in the business.

As, in fact, her husband, Zinovy Petlyovany, does not have either an individual entrepreneur or a business, which her parents do not have. The girl's father, Valery Danilov, is only one of the founders of the public organization "Nadzbruchchya Fishermen's Association".

Pharmacist Olena Petlyovana, without having the appropriate income, bought an apartment worth between UAH 11 and 18 million. BlackBox OSINT graphics

So, Olena Petlyovana boldly gets on the list of people who should be checked by anti-corruption authorities to see where the money came from to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars of housing in Taryan Towers. Because, it seems, this is the same story about the legalization of money that does not have a legal origin. The only question is whose money did the pharmacist from Ternopil region legalize in this way.

Apartment No. 373. 28-year-old tax evader Ilya Brekhin gave an apartment worth millions of hryvnias to an 80-year-old grandfather

Ilya Brekhin, a 28-year-old native of the city of Dnipro, who, according to information from his social networks, studied at Goldsmiths University in London and actually lived in London, on September 15, 2020, purchased two apartments at once in Taryan Towers - one at number 373 with an area of 119 square meters and the second with an area of 118.7 square meters at number 380. Their cost without renovation is from UAH 17.6 million each.

On September 2, 2024, Ilya Brekhin donated both apartments to his grandfather, Mykola Viktorovych Lysak. In both donation agreements, according to BlackBox OSINT data, the parties estimated the value of each apartment at only 2 million UAH (49 thousand USD), which is almost 9 times lower than their market value.

During the conclusion of these contracts, Iryna Hryhorivna Porok acted on behalf of Ilya Brekhin on the basis of a power of attorney issued in Warsaw by the Polish notary Dorota Kossewska, which confirms the fact that Ilya Brekhin was abroad during the war in Ukraine.

What kind of young guy is this who gives his grandfather gifts worth tens of millions of hryvnias? Ilya Brekhin, according to Ukrainian registers, is a beneficiary with a 35% stake in PJSC Dnipro Terminal, where his grandfather Mykola Lysak is another co-founder. According to the company's available financial statements for 2020, the company is unprofitable.

Financial statements of PRJSC "Dnepr Terminal"
The latest financial reporting data of PRJSC "Dnipro Terminal" was provided in 2020

So, obviously, this business is not the source of such income that would allow you to buy two apartments in the most expensive residential complex in Kyiv. Open data revealed that Ilya Brekhin and his mother Natalia Brekhina are shareholders of the Polish company "Novik", registered in Warsaw on September 5, 2022 and engaged in wholesale trade in motor vehicles. Ilya Brekhin is the chairman of the board of this company.

Natalia Brekhina also has a 20% stake in Natali LLC, which is engaged in freight road transport, but as of 2024 it is also a loss-making company, although in previous years it brought small profits from UAH 350 thousand to UAH 2.7 million.

Financial statements of LLC "Natalie"
Since 2023, the activities of LLC "Natalie", the mother of Ilya Brekhin, have been gradually winding down. Screenshot Opendata.ua

The aforementioned grandfather of the guy, 80-year-old Mykola Lysak, who became the happy owner of two apartments in Taryan Towers, in addition to a share in the loss-making PRJSC "Dniprovsky Terminal" also has a 19.4% share in LLC "Halychyna Lasunka", which is engaged in the production of ice cream. And this is the only enterprise that has significant profits - from 8 million UAH in 2020 to 44.3 million UAH in 2024.

Graphic showing that two apartments in the Taryan Towers residential complex are registered to 80-year-old Mykola Lysak

But then, if we imagine that an 80-year-old grandfather from the Dnipropetrovsk region really receives significant dividends from LLC "Halychyna Lasunka", why did he not purchase two apartments in Taryan Towers directly, but used his grandson for this, who re-gifted them to him, reducing their value by at least 9 times - obviously, to save on taxes - so necessary for a country defending itself from Russian aggression.

Apartment No. 323. How crypto trader Andriy Trushkovsky used a pensioner from Donetsk region to hide illegal profits from the state

Well, another owner of an apartment in the Taryan Towers residential complex, about whom there are many questions, is 76-year-old pensioner Gubar Svitlana Fedorovna, who is registered as of 2025 in the city of Dobropillya, Donetsk region. On January 27, 2025, she became the owner of apartment No. 323 with an area of 82.1 square meters and a cost of at least 300 thousand US dollars (with renovation, such an apartment reaches a price of 615 thousand dollars).

However, according to BlackBox OSINT, in the purchase and sale agreement, in which Iryna Hryhorivna Trushkovska acted as the seller, and her grandson Dmytro Mustafayev acted as the buyer of pensioner Svitlana Gubar by proxy, by agreement of the parties the cost of the apartment was indicated at only $107,740, that is, three times less than the market price (again, assuming that Iryna was selling the apartment without renovation).

Even without taking into account the reduced cost of the apartment (apparently to pay fewer taxes), pensioner Svitlana Gubar does not have shares in corporate rights and a legal and understandable source of income for such a purchase, just as her husband, 77-year-old pensioner Ivan Gubar, does not have them.

Their daughter, 53-year-old Anzhela Mustafayeva, probably works as a cleaner at a school in the city of Dobropillya, Donetsk region. At least, this is indicated by the entries of her mobile number in the phone books of subscribers, according to the Getcontact application: Anzhela 7 Shk, Anzhela Tekhnichka, Anzhela Tekhn, Anzhela Ubor. Her husband Server Mustafayeva is also not listed in any registers as the owner of enterprises or individual entrepreneurs.

The sons of the Mustafayevs, 24-year-old Oleksandr Mustafayev and 30-year-old Dmytro Mustafayev, only have registered individual entrepreneurs: Oleksandr has been engaged in computer programming since 2021, and Dmytro has been running an individual business since 2020 with the main activity being the provision of other information services.

That is, we see that this is an ordinary family from the Donetsk region, which has absolutely no chance or opportunity to acquire housing for several hundred thousand dollars, and for which an apartment in Taryan Towers is more of a distant dream and an unattainable luxury. So, the only catch is the seller of the apartment.

65-year-old Tushkovska Iryna Grigorivna is a resident of Kyiv, according to the signatures of her mobile number in Getcontact - an accountant by profession. Since 2018, she has been the head of the public organization "Horticultural Society "Sokil". In addition, according to her comments on the social network Facebook, as of 2017 the woman did not work, but received assistance to care for her mother.

screenshot of the social network Facebook
Iryna Trushkovska, who sold her apartment in Taryan Towers, did not work at all until recently because she was caring for her sick mother

Before selling the aforementioned apartment to Svetlana Gubar, she received it as a gift from her youngest son, Andriy Trushkovsky, who lives in Los Angeles, USA. In the gift agreement, the parties valued the apartment in Taryan Towers at only a ridiculous $9,800, or UAH 400,000, which is a price 30 times lower than the real one.

Andriy Trushkovsky, 35, is the beneficiary and founder (with a 49% stake) of Red Panda Production LLC, which produces films, videos, and television programs, although his company has not filed any financial statements since its founding in 2017. In addition, he is one of the founders and signatories of the advertising agency Maincream LLC, which was unprofitable as of 2020 and has not filed any financial statements since then. It seems that both companies are fictitious.

Where does the guy get the money to buy a home in Taryan Towers? Judging by his Instagram page, Andriy Trushkovsky, like one of the previous heroes of our investigations, Kharkiv resident Vladislav Myroshnychenko, is engaged in crypto trading and leads a luxurious lifestyle - he drives expensive cars, regularly travels abroad, buys things from world brands and luxury watches. His younger brother Timur Trushkovsky, who also lives in the USA, is also engaged in trading cryptocurrencies and earning money by training people who have decided to become future millionaire crypto traders - he officially has no stake in the business.

So, neither Andriy Trushkovsky, nor his brother or parents, had official money of legal origin to purchase an apartment in Taryan Towers: the companies in which Andriy Trushkovsky has shares do not bring profits and generally look like fictitious ones. But, apparently, he had unofficial profits from crypto trading, which he decided to legalize in this way - through the purchase of an apartment in perhaps the most expensive residential complex in Ukraine.

Why did Trushkovskyi give an apartment to his mother Iryna Trushkovskyi in May 2024, indicating its value at a ridiculous $9,800, and she, in turn, sold it for $107,000 to a pensioner from a front-line town in the Donetsk region in January 2025?

Most likely due to the fact that in May 2024, detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security conducted searches in Taryan Towers in the apartment of the famous blogger and head of the Traffik Devils company, Oleksandr Slobozhenko, who was suspected of excess profits that he hid from taxation in cryptocurrency. Apparently, fearing that law enforcement officers would also come to him with questions about the legality of the funds for the purchase of an apartment in Taryan Towers, Trushkovsky decided to immediately “merge” it, transferring it to his mother. And then, apparently, they decided to hide the apartment even better by selling it to a fake pensioner.

graph with data that crypto trader Andriy Trushkovsky bought an apartment with money that has no official origin
Crypto trader Andriy Trushkovsky does not have official income to buy an apartment in Taryan Towers, so he registered it under a false identity. BlackBox OSINT graphics

Therefore, the Taryan Towers residential complex has become a kind of territory for the legalization of illegal money on a particularly large scale: with such high prices for apartments, you can launder a rather large amount of money at once. And if you want to save on taxes, you can always re-gift or resell housing to front persons at a price several times or even dozens of times lower than the market price. It remains only to hope that the Bureau of Economic Security will pay attention not only to Oleksandr Slobozhenko’s apartment, but also to all of the above-mentioned ones in our investigation.
