Power outages may resume in Ukraine next week due to the predicted cold snap. This is warned by Volodymyr Velichko, a member of the supervisory board of Centrenergo, noting that weather forecasters predict a significant drop in temperature.
Velichko emphasized that for energy professionals, this means the need to take more significant measures to balance the energy system. Among such measures is emergency assistance from operators of neighboring countries. However, before seeking external assistance, it is necessary to use our own resources to the maximum.
"If NPC Ukrenergo fails to maintain the balance of the power system, outage schedules will be applied," Velichko added.
Thus, Ukrainians should be prepared for possible power outages if energy companies are unable to ensure the proper balance in conditions of decreasing temperatures.
