Ukrainian road carriers will continue to operate without special permits for cargo transportation to European Union countries. The so-called "transport visa-free regime" has been extended until December 31, 2025. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal after talks in Brussels.
"This is the fourth extension of the agreement, which demonstrates its effectiveness and efficiency. Ukrainian exports by road to the EU increased by 42%, imports to Ukraine by 37%," Shmyhal wrote in his Telegram channel.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that this is an official extension of the liberalization of freight transport between Ukraine and the European Union. According to him, the automatic extension became possible thanks to the effective cooperation between the Ukrainian side and the European Commission.
"This is important news for Ukrainian carriers, exporters, and the entire economy," Kuleba noted.
"Transport visa-free travel" is one of the forms of Ukraine's sectoral integration into the single European market. According to Shmyhal, it is not only a convenient tool for business, but also a prerequisite for Ukraine's full membership in the EU.
The Ukrainian side thanked the European partners for the support they continue to provide during this difficult time for Ukraine.
