The head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrell, expressed the need to strengthen military support for Ukraine and called on partners to provide Kyiv with long-range missiles. In his message on the social network, he spoke about a telephone conversation with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, where concern was expressed about the increasing Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
Borrell stressed the consensus on the need to increase military support for Ukraine, in particular in the form of long-range missiles and anti-aircraft systems. Diplomats also discussed measures to eliminate circumvention of anti-Russian sanctions, noting the risk of significant European exports being re-exported to Russia.
It is worth noting that on January 2, Russian-terrorist forces resumed active attacks on Ukraine, using kamikaze drones and missiles. The attack was aimed at Kyiv, and air defense forces managed to destroy about 60 missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, launched from MiG-31K fighter jets.
