Ukraine is actively preparing for the National Selection for the international contest “Eurovision-2025”, which will be held in Switzerland in May next year. The selection of the country's representative on the international stage is already at the finish line, and it has become known who will evaluate the participants' performances.
The members of the National Selection jury were chosen by Ukrainians by voting in the “Diya” application. After the selection was completed, it was already announced which of the Ukrainian stars would become judges of this important competition. There were a total of 10 candidates for these positions, including Dmytro Hutsulyak, Jamala, Dmytro Zezyulin, Kateryna Pavlenko, Oleg Psyuk, Anna Svyrydova, Serhiy Tanchynets, Katya Tsaryk, Sasha Chemerov and Dmytro Shurov.
According to the results of the voting, the singer Jamala received the most votes. She took first place with 156 thousand votes, which is 35.28% of all votes. Jamala, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, has been a member of the National Selection jury for several years in a row, and next year she will join this important process again.
The second place among the candidates was taken by the leader of the band “Bez Obmezhen”, Ukrainian musician Serhiy Tanchynets. He received 89 thousand votes (20.24%) and already has experience working on the National Selection jury, so he will be part of this process for the second year in a row.
The third judge was the frontwoman of the band Go_A, Kateryna Pavlenko. In 2021, her band represented Ukraine at Eurovision and took fifth place. The singer received 52 thousand votes (11.84%), and will now evaluate the performances of the participants from Ukraine.
As a reminder, Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland. The semi-finals of the competition will be held on May 13 and 15, and the final on May 17. The final of the National Selection is expected in February next year.
