Former UAF Chairman Pavelko left abroad despite house arrest

Former president of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko, who previously left the post of UAF chairman amid criminal proceedings, has left the territory of Ukraine, despite the current preventive measure in the form of house arrest. According to a number of media reports, 50-year-old Pavelko left abroad, presumably using a fake certificate that allegedly allowed him to cross the border.

The possibility of placing Pavelko on the international wanted list through Interpol is currently being discussed. The former head of the UAF is under investigation in criminal proceedings related to suspicions of corruption during the implementation of a project to build a factory for the production of artificial turf for football fields in Kropyvnytskyi. It was within the framework of these proceedings that the court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for him.

Recall that on January 25, 2024, Andriy Shevchenko became the president of the UAF, replacing Pavelko at the head of the organization. The ex-president's departure abroad came as a surprise to the public and attracted wide attention from the media and the football community.
