From May 1, Ukraine will officially start using a new type of gasoline — E5, which contains up to 5% bioethanol. This is part of a pan-European trend towards eco-friendly fuel. The first batches of such "alcoholic" gasoline have already appeared at Ukrainian gas stations, and large chains are actively preparing for a full transition. However, experts advise drivers to be careful — the new fuel requires strict adherence to storage and transportation standards. Energy analyst Serhiy Kuyun urges not to look for the lowest prices, at least at the start, but to choose proven sellers who can guarantee quality.
“Alcoholic” gasoline is already in Ukraine.
The market is actively preparing for May 1, the import of E5 (gasoline with 5% biocomponents).
OKKO and UPG have already stated that they see no problems with the start of the program, and Ukrnafta has even started selling E5 at individual stations (in order to comply with the law on May 1, filling stations with biofuel must already begin in all large networks).
I would like to repeat my advice once again: at least in May-June, refrain from searching for and using the cheapest gasoline. The market must adapt to a new product, which is very demanding on the cleanliness of tanks at oil depots, gas stations, and fuel trucks. Quality control must be strengthened, and this can best be done only by network players that have stationary and mobile laboratories in their ranks (the creation and maintenance of these units requires a lot of money).
In addition, on premium networks, the chances of being heard in the event of any situations arise are much greater.
