London's Arsenal fans expressed a surprise because of Alexander Zinchenko's reaction to the goal clogged at the PSV goal in the match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. The Ukrainian football player struck from outside the penalty area, but instead of the celebration he only raised his hands up, demonstrating that he would not enjoy the gate.
The reason for this gesture is Zinchenko's past in PSV. In the 2016/2017 season, he played for the Dutch Rental Club, holding a total of 17 matches. For the Ukrainian, this period was the first serious step in European football after the transition from Ufa to Manchester City.
However, the fans of Arsenal did not appreciate such a gesture and expressed indignation on social networks. They believe that Zinchenko exceeded his connections with PSV, because he was not a key player of the team and spent only one season there.
“What an absurdity! Zinchenko played 12 matches for PSV nine years ago and did not celebrate a goal, ”one of the fans writes. “Stop, bro. You spent one season in 19 years, ”another added. Some fans even called this gesture "full of nonsense."
Zinchenko's reaction has become a matter of debate, because such gestures are usually made by players who have a close connection with the club, where they played for a long time or have achieved significant success. However, it seems that a Ukrainian footballer just wanted to show respect for his first European team.
