A tragic incident occurred in the village of Vorzel in the Kyiv region: a passenger train traveling from Warsaw to Kyiv fatally injured a 50-year-old man. The Kyiv region police reported the incident.
According to preliminary data, the man was crossing the railway tracks at a specially equipped crossing. The driver sounded the sound signals, warning of the approaching train, but the pedestrian did not react to them. Despite the emergency braking, the collision could not be avoided. The man died on the spot from his injuries.
Investigators of the Buchanan District Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of safety rules for traffic or operation of railway transport, which caused the death of a person.
Police emphasize the importance of following safety rules near railway tracks. Law enforcement officers urge citizens to be as careful as possible, as ignoring signals and track crossing rules can lead to irreparable consequences.
