On August 13, a tragedy occurred in Khmelnytskyi region: a bus carrying children overturned on the H-03 highway near the village of Vyshnopil in the Starokostyantynivka territorial community. One child and one adult accompanying the children's group died as a result of the road accident. This was reported by the Communications Sector of the Khmelnytskyi region police.
The accident occurred at 07:45 in the morning. The LAZ Liner bus was transporting 19 children and 4 adults from the village of Lyubar, Zhytomyr region, to the village of Mykulychyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region. According to preliminary data, the bus driver lost control, which led to the vehicle overturning.
At the time of the accident, there were 23 people on the bus: 19 children, two adults accompanying the group, and two drivers. One 12-year-old girl and one adult died at the scene, the number of injured and the nature of their injuries are currently being determined. All victims were taken to hospital for medical care.
The investigative and operational group of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Main Police Department of Khmelnytskyi Region is working at the scene. Investigative actions are ongoing, including an inspection of the accident site and documentation of the consequences of the accident. The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violation of road safety rules that led to serious consequences, is being resolved.
