The State Bureau of Investigation is establishing the circumstances of a fatal road accident that occurred on the evening of January 25 in the village of Sokilnyky, Lviv region. As a result of the accident, Orest Salamakha, a People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party, died.

According to preliminary investigation data, at about 6:15 p.m., the ATV driven by the parliamentarian crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a minibus. There were passengers in the minibus at the time of the accident, however, according to available information, none of them were injured.
The deputy was seriously injured in the collision. He was taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life - the man died at the hospital.
Currently, law enforcement officers are deciding on the issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. They plan to open criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of road safety rules, which caused the death of a person or serious bodily injury.
SBI investigators conduct a complex of procedural actions: inspecting the scene of the accident, interviewing eyewitnesses, analyzing recordings, and collecting evidence to establish all the causes and circumstances of the accident.
