The Prosecutor General's Office has opened criminal proceedings against the father and brother of Deputy Prosecutor General Maria Vdovichenko. The basis for this was a complaint filed by the Anti-Corruption Center. The organization reported this in its official statement.
According to the Central Criminal Procedure Code, proceedings have been registered against Vdovichenko's older brother, Oleksandr Levandovsky, under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason). His father, Serhiy Levandovsky, is charged under Parts 1 and 4 of Article 111-1 (collaborative activities).
The anti-corruption organization notes that Levandovsky Sr. received Russian citizenship in 2014 and began running a business in the occupied Crimea, paying taxes in Russia. Despite this, according to his daughter's declarations, he remains a citizen of Ukraine.
The older brother of the Deputy Prosecutor General, according to the Central Military Commission, worked as the Deputy Feodosia Military Prosecutor of Ukraine until 2014, and after the occupation of Crimea, he received a Russian passport and transferred to the service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Central Military District of the Russian Federation, which, according to human rights activists, indicates a violation of the oath.
The CPC also emphasized that it was Maria Vdovichenko who signed a number of procedural documents in the proceedings against NABU detective Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, who is accused of allegedly aiding Russia.
The open UCP proceedings are currently at the pre-trial investigation stage.
