A man who organized a sham marriage for his daughter to a conscript will be on trial in Lviv. He demanded 200,000 hryvnias for the illegal "deal."
According to the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the event occurred in August 2023. The father convinced his daughter, who has a group II disability and personality disorder, to agree to marry a Lviv man who was trying to avoid mobilization.
The man took advantage of the girl's vulnerable state, organized a trip to the registry office and officially registered the marriage. After that, the "son-in-law" received legal grounds to avoid military service.
For his role in the scheme, the father demanded 200 thousand hryvnias from the evader. At present, investigators have completed the investigation, and the materials have been sent to the court. The accused faces punishment for organizing an illegal transaction.
