The film "20 days in Mariupol" was included in the longlist of the BAFTA award

The documentary film "20 days in Mariupol" was nominated for the BAFTA award in two categories: the best documentary film and the best film in a foreign language. Director Mstislav Chernov, a war correspondent, stayed in the besieged Mariupol together with his colleague Yevhen Maloletka in March 2022.

The film covers events in Mariupol in February-March 2022, including footage of Russian shelling and bombing of a maternity hospital. The Ukrainian audience recognized it as the highest-grossing documentary film. The film was also longlisted for Best Foreign Language Film along with films by other directors such as Hayao Miyazaki, Aki Kaurismaki, Jonathan Glazer and many others.

In the "Best Documentary" category, the film will compete with other works such as "American Symphony", "The Deepest Dive", "Pigeon Tunnel" and others. The longlist finalists will be announced on January 18, with the BAFTAs a month later.
