The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Maryana Bezugla published on her Facebook page a number of comments regarding the financing of the Public Broadcasting of Ukraine and its effectiveness. According to her report, Public Broadcasting receives 2 billion hryvnias of state funding annually, and the number of views of the 90-minute show was only 1,000. These data raise reasonable doubts about the effectiveness of spending budget funds on the development and functioning of public broadcasting in the country.
Bezugla noted that last week she joined the broadcast and attended the talk show "New Count" on Suspilny (Pershiy) with Andriy Dikhtyarenko and Vlasta Lazur. Suspilne is part of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine (NSTU), which is financed from taxpayers' funds, as is Telemarathon.
“A 90-minute talk show on YouTube only gets 1,000 views, while my regular Reels get over 50,000 views, not to mention the reach of videos from professional bloggers. The question arises, is public broadcasting worth 2 billion hryvnias per year, what is its role as a state broadcaster, why do we have a separate public broadcaster and a separate "telemarathon", what is their mission and who watches it?" Bezugla wrote.
The deputy emphasized that there are more than 4,000 employees at NSTU, and in 2024 almost 2 billion hryvnias were separately allocated to NSTU, and another 1.5 billion were separately allocated for the telethon. very high
We remind you that only 37% of Ukrainians use the Telethon to get information.
