Flu and COVID-19 cases are increasing in Ukraine

Over the past week (November 11-17), 118,276 people in Ukraine fell ill with influenza, acute respiratory viral infections, and COVID-19, the majority of whom — 68,333 — were children under the age of 17. This data is provided by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Key figures and trends

  • Growth among children : Incidence among children increased by almost 3% in a week.
  • Fatalities : Five deaths from COVID-19 complications have been recorded.
  • Hospitalization : 2,641 patients received medical care in hospitals.
  • Since the start of the season : Since October, 821,164 Ukrainians have already been infected, which is 2.3% of the country's population. At the same time, COVID-19 has been diagnosed in 11,847 people, 43 of whom have died.

Vaccination is the key to prevention

As of November 17, 82,805 Ukrainians had been vaccinated against the flu. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that vaccination is the most effective prevention of both the flu and COVID-19, especially for people from risk groups.
French and Korean vaccines that have passed state quality control are available in pharmacies across the country.

Dynamics in recent weeks

A week earlier (from November 4 to 10), 115,137 people fell ill, indicating a gradual increase in the number of infected people.
