Ukrainian footballer Artem Besedin, who currently plays for Czech Second League club Lišeny, has explained his decision not to return to Ukraine, despite offers from Ukrainian clubs. The player noted that an important factor for him was his unwillingness to expose his family to danger in wartime.
Besedin noted that in 2022 he played for the Ordabasy team and although he had fond memories of that period, after the contract expired they did not continue their cooperation. When the war began, Artem was in Ukraine and experienced part of that terrible time, which changed his attitude towards returning.
“A part of me was drawn home, but after the war started, I was in Ukraine and experienced part of that terrible time. I have small children and I don't want to put my family through this ordeal again,” Besedin shared his thoughts.
Currently, the player is continuing his career in the Czech Republic, where he is considering offers from abroad, especially since in the 2024/2025 season he played only 5 matches for Dynamo without scoring. At the same time, Besedin emphasized that the safety of his loved ones is important to him.
