Taras Chmut, head of the "Return Alive" charity foundation, said that Ukraine was able to survive during the winter campaign and change the dynamics of hostilities on the front.
He wrote about this on the social network X, summing up the winter period of the war.
According to Chmut, Russia actually lost the so-called "battle of the winter," while Ukraine was able to maintain its stability and continues to fight.
" Russia lost the battle for winter. And we won. The first day of spring. The sunny day is getting longer. It's getting warmer. Ukraine continues the fight ," he noted.
Separately, Chmut drew attention to the changing situation directly on the front. According to his assessment, for the first time in many months, and possibly years, Ukrainian forces have begun to liberate more territory than they are losing.
He also thanked the Ukrainian military, air defense forces, energy workers, utility workers, government officials, and all citizens for their endurance during the difficult winter period.
According to Chmut, it was the joint resilience of the military and civilians that allowed Ukraine to get through the winter without critical consequences for the energy system and the state's defense.
