In the summer of 2024, on one of the beaches of the Kotelevka territorial community, three people, including minors, committed sexual acts against a young boy.
After the rape of a 12-year-old boy in the Poltava region, two rapists were fined, and the third was not even searched for, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported.
"The incident occurred in mid-June of this year. However, law enforcement agencies learned about this fact only on August 5 and did not initiate a pre-trial investigation, but drew up administrative reports against the parents of the two boys. The parents were fined 850 UAH! They did not even try to identify the third boy at that time," Lubinets wrote.
Only when this event became public on social networks did the police enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sexual violence against a minor).
The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into police officers who failed to enter information about the crime into the ERDR.
Earlier, information about this story appeared on social networks. It was said that a teenager was beaten and then raped with a stick. Two minors and one adult participated in this.
