The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian agent in the Rivne region who was collecting data on military infrastructure for the interests of the Russian special services. The young man was trying to establish the coordinates of airfields and depots of the Defense Forces to prepare missile strikes by the aggressor country.
As reported on June 15 on the official Telegram channel of the SBU, the spy turned out to be a 24-year-old unemployed resident of the region, who was recruited remotely by a personnel officer of the Russian FSB, Ilya Kudryavtsev. The recruitment took place through Telegram channels, where the Ukrainian was looking for "easy money.".
After establishing contact, the agent received clear instructions: to identify the location of Ukrainian military facilities, conduct additional reconnaissance on the ground, and transmit the coordinates to the enemy. To do this, he installed a hidden video camera in his car, with which he drove around the region and recorded the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on video.
Law enforcement officers detained the traitor "red-handed" while filming the outer perimeter of one of the military facilities. As a result of the SBU special operation, it was possible not only to prevent the leakage of important information, but also to secure the locations of Ukrainian troops.
During the search, the suspect's mobile phone, a hidden surveillance camera, and other evidence of his work for Russian intelligence services were seized.
The man has already been charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - high treason under martial law. He is currently in custody. If convicted, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
