Former head of the fiscal service Roman Nasirov will serve as a sapper

Former head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov, who is involved in the high-profile gas case, has been mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As reported by the media, he will now serve in the engineering and sapper unit, holding the position of sapper.

According to a document dated April 7, 2025, Nasirov was appointed a sapper of the 1st engineering and sapper department of the engineering and sapper company. His base salary is 2,640 hryvnias. At the same time, the actual payments significantly exceed the base amount: a monthly bonus of 578% is provided for “special contribution to the overall results of the service”, as well as a 65% bonus for special conditions of service.

The basis for Nasirov's enrollment in the military unit was a certificate of passing the military medical commission, issued on January 30, 2025.

Interestingly, the decision to mobilize coincided with the final phase of the trial in the so-called gas case, in which Nasirov is accused of abuse of office. This concerns gas schemes involving former People's Deputy Oleksandr Onyshchenko, which, according to the investigation, caused significant losses to the state.

A court hearing was scheduled for April 9 to consider the defendant's further duties. Due to Nasirov's mobilization, the hearing was postponed. The former official's defense is requesting that the case be suspended until he completes his service.
