The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court sentenced former People's Deputy of the 8th convocation Arkady Kornatsky to three years and six months in prison for illegally receiving housing compensation of almost 914 thousand hryvnias. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reported the court's decision.
According to the investigation, during his term, Kornatskyi illegally received compensation from the state for renting a hotel room in Kyiv. He systematically provided false information, despite the fact that he was not entitled to such payments, which caused losses to the state budget of hundreds of thousands of hryvnias.
The Supreme Court of Ukraine found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - abuse of power or official position. The court sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison, and also imposed a fine of 8,500 hryvnias. In addition, the former People's Deputy is prohibited from holding positions related to organizational, managerial and administrative-economic functions for three years.
The verdict may be appealed to the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice within 30 days from the date of its pronouncement.
