Former Deputy Head of the Kherson City Military Administration (KCMAA) Yaroslav Yakovlev published a declaration for 2024, which aroused significant public interest. According to the document, the official received UAH 1.3 million in salary, has UAH 484 thousand in savings, and $60 thousand in cash.
Back in 2022, the Yakovlev family lived only on payments for internally displaced persons in the amount of UAH 18,000. However, in 2023, the situation changed dramatically:
- Yakovlev's wife declared UAH 1.5 million in income from business activities.
- The official himself received UAH 285,200 in salary and UAH 24,000 in social benefits.
Yakovlev served as Deputy Head of the HMVA for less than a year, after which he resigned in November 2024 without giving any reasons.
The official's own fleet of cars is modest - he owns a Daewoo Lanos. However, his wife has three cars, the make and cost of which are not specified in the declaration.
Yakovlev also owns a jet ski, the price of which can vary from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.
Another detail is an apartment in Kyiv owned by his wife. At the same time, the declaration lacks information about her income, which raises questions about the sources of funding.
Overall, the document raises a number of questions, as the family's wealth has grown significantly over the past two years. However, there is no explanation for the origin of some assets, in particular the financial capabilities of Yakovlev's wife.
Whether there is a violation in this should be determined by the relevant authorities, which can verify the compliance of the declaration with the real income of the former official's family.
