Former MP from the Party of Regions Yuriy Ivanyushchenko, who is suspected in Ukraine of illegally legalizing 18 hectares of state land worth over UAH 160 million, has been the owner of a Russian passport since 2004. In addition, he received at least two foreign Russian passports, which he used for regular trips to Russia.
According to journalistic investigations, Ivanyushchenko has been hiding from Ukrainian law enforcement since 2014, and his visits to the Russian Federation have been recorded since at least 2015. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he has made at least ten trips to Russia, including trips with businessman Ruben Tatulyan, who is under US and Ukrainian sanctions.
Journalists found out that Ivanyushchenko also flew with businessmen from the occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast, including Anatoly Zuyev and Ilya Podtynny. Some of Zuyev's and his partners' companies continue to operate in the Russian market and the occupied territories, paying taxes to the occupation budget.
NABU and SAPO reported Ivanyushchenko on suspicion of illegally appropriating 18 hectares of state land. In October 2025, the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for him, but the former MP, according to his defense, is in France and periodically undergoes treatment in Monaco.
Yuriy Ivanyushchenko is known as a business partner of former President Viktor Yanukovych and a criminal authority nicknamed “Yura Yenakiyevsky”. He participated in the vote for the “dictatorial laws” in January 2014, and after the Revolution of Dignity he fled Ukraine. His assets and actions have regularly been subject to sanctions by Switzerland and EU countries, although some criminal proceedings against him have been closed by Ukrainian courts.
