In Lviv region, law enforcement officers have uncovered a scheme to obtain illegal benefits organized by a 53-year-old resident of Zhydachiv, who previously held the position of deputy. According to the Lviv regional prosecutor's office, the man promised to help a conscript avoid mobilization for 5,500 US dollars.
The attacker claimed to have influence over officials of the 1st department of the Stryi RTCC and the SP, as well as members of the military medical commission of one of the hospitals in the Stryi district. His promises included removing the conscript from the wanted list, updating military registration documents, and obtaining the necessary conclusion of the Military Medical Commission, which would give the client legal grounds to avoid service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The man was detained while receiving part of the agreed amount — UAH 153,000. He has now been charged with abuse of influence. At the request of the prosecutor's office, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail.
Investigators are continuing to identify all individuals involved in the scheme and are investigating the possible involvement of other officials.
