Law enforcement agencies have announced a suspicion within the framework of criminal proceedings related to the purchase of electricity for one of the utility companies. According to the investigation, as a result of violations during the procurement, the state suffered losses in the amount of more than 10 million hryvnias.
As reported by the prosecutor's office, the former head of the municipal enterprise "Odesmiskelektrotrans" has been suspected. She is accused of official negligence, which, according to the investigation, led to serious consequences for the enterprise and the local budget.
The investigation found that during the purchase of electricity, the official improperly performed her duties, failing to ensure compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of public procurement. This, according to law enforcement officers, led to the conclusion of unprofitable contracts and significant financial losses.
Investigative actions are currently underway to clarify all the circumstances of the case, as well as the possible involvement of other officials in making decisions regarding the purchase of electricity. If proven guilty, the suspect faces criminal liability in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
