This week, the former head of Ukrtransbezpeka, Yevhen Zborovsky, resigned from civil service.
Zborovsky is a former sneaker salesman who joined the patrol police during the reforms.
In 2018, in the center of Kyiv, MP Mustafa Nayem was attacked by representatives of one of the ethnic groups in a Mercedes “Kubik” due to a traffic conflict. Sources claim that it was Zborovsky who “leaked” the attackers and the video footage to Nayem.
After Oleksandr Kubrakov's political influence in Zelensky's team grew, he expanded his control over the state system, which also includes Ukrtransbezpeka.
Nayem remembers Yevhen Zborovsky and his dedication, and together with Kubrakov, they promote him to the position of head of Ukrtransbezpeka - despite Zborovsky's complete lack of experience in this area.
In 2022, after the start of a full-scale war, they are the ones who are trying to make Ukrtransbezpeka the key structure that issues permits for men to travel abroad, as it is they who begin to control the Shlyakh system.
More than one law enforcement agency conducted covert investigative actions against Yevhen Zborovsky, his corruption, and abuses at Shlyakh. But each time the process was blocked by the influence of Kubrakov (and Nayem).
The only thing his opponents managed to achieve after many years was to transfer Zborovsky from the position of head of Ukrtransbezpeka to deputy.
After that, Yevhen Zborovsky wanted to leave Ukrtransbezpeka, because he understood the attention of law enforcement officers to him, but he was afraid that after leaving the state structure he would lose his "armor" and be mobilized.
Therefore, only after his wife gave birth to a third child in 2025, and he received a deferment from mobilization from the CCC, Yevhen Zborovsky immediately resigned from Ukrtransbezpeka and fled from possible criminal consequences.
