Ex-official Zadyrak may be charged with financing terrorism

Former top official of the State Food Grain Corporation Andriy Zadyraka, who is hiding in Greece, is suspected of fraud and embezzlement of land from one of the communities in Zhytomyr region. At the same time, he cooperates with outspoken Russian collaborators, in particular with Alexander Kurakov, who, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, has a business in the occupied territory of Luhansk region.

Zadyrak began his career in a company owned by Russian citizens that exported Ukrainian grain to Russia. After being dismissed from the DPZK due to corruption, he chose the path of farming in the Zhytomyr region, but instead of legally leasing land, he began raiding land plots.

One of the most striking cases was the seizure of the Morozivskyi cooperative, which was disbanded in the 1990s. Zadyrak and his accomplices transferred it to front persons, seizing hundreds of hectares of the Malyn community. The prosecutor's office has already returned land worth over UAH 600 million to its rightful owners. Criminal proceedings have been opened against Zadyrak and his partners.

The former official continues to profit through companies including Agropaladium-Plus LLC, Kashirskaya Grain Company, BSK Agro, and Polissya Agrarian Group. His partner Kurakov owns a majority stake in Agromontazhnik LLC, registered in the occupied Luhansk region under Russian law in October 2022. The company is managed by Russians and paid significant funds to the budget of the aggressor state.

Zadyrak's circle of cooperation also includes legal advisors - the Darmogray family, who manage land assets and provide legal support in courts and local authorities.

In fact, the activities of Zadyrak and his partners may fall under the articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on collaboration, financing of territorial change, and financing of terrorism. The maximum sanction under these articles is up to 12 years of imprisonment. The former official, aware of the risks, is hiding in Greece, but an international search and the possibility of extradition may become inevitable.
