It became known about the detention of former Supreme Court Chairman Vsevolod Knyazev near the state border in Transcarpathia, just 1 kilometer from the border with Romania.
Former Supreme Court Chairman Knyazev was released from pre-trial detention in January on bail of 8 million hryvnias.
Knyazev was riding in a Volkswagen car with license plate AO1794YA as a passenger.
Knyazev is currently in the Solotvino border guard department. The purpose of his stay near the state border is being clarified and the version of a possible attempt to illegally cross the Ukrainian border is being verified.
Vsevolod Knyazev's lawyer, commenting on his detention, said that the former Chairman of the Supreme Court was heading to a sanatorium in Transcarpathia.
“There are no questions from SAPO prosecutors and NABU detectives to Knyazev regarding this situation,” he summarized.
