NATO countries, together with Ukraine, established a working group to consider issues of strengthening the state's air defense. According to Natalia Halibarenko, the head of the Ukrainian mission to NATO, the first meeting of the group is scheduled for next week. It is noted that foreign companies specializing in air defense will join this initiative later.
Halibarenko emphasized that at the meeting next week, the Ukrainian side will present its proposals and listen to the proposals of partners. She also noted that companies with advanced technologies in the field of air defense can join the work.
The head of the mission noted that at this stage the main attention is paid to Western defense companies that produce modern air defense equipment. The Institute for the Study of War notes that the supply of such systems from Western partners is of key importance for Ukraine, as Russian forces test new methods of countering Ukrainian air defenses.
John Kirby, coordinator of the National Security Council of the United States, emphasized that strengthening Ukraine's air defense will be a priority task in the formation of future packages of military aid from the United States.
