The State Bureau of Investigation has reported suspicions to four servicemen of one of the units deployed in the Kyiv region. According to the investigation, the soldiers deliberately refused to go to the combat zone, despite their fitness for service and a valid command order.
As noted by the State Bureau of Investigation, their behavior is radically different from the actions of their comrades who carried out the order and continue to serve on the front line. The investigation established that the defendants had no objective reasons for refusing and acted deliberately, violating the military oath and the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
The suspects are charged with violating Part 4 of Article 402 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - disobedience under martial law. All four are currently in custody. If convicted, they face up to ten years in prison.
The State Bureau of Investigation emphasizes that it is the constitutional duty of every citizen to protect the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Refusal to execute orders in time of war is considered a crime, regardless of the position or rank of the serviceman.
The investigation is ongoing.
