France is ready to replace the United States in providing intelligence to Ukraine, French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu said. In an interview with france24, Lecornu confirmed that France is ready to offer Ukraine intelligence that was previously provided by the United States.
This comes against the backdrop of recent events, when on March 5, the media reported a temporary suspension of the exchange of intelligence data between the United States and Ukraine regarding strikes on Russian territory. However, as it turned out later, the United States continues to transfer data for strikes on Russian positions in the occupied territories. According to the CIA director, Washington has not only suspended arms supplies, but also stopped the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine.
This decision was the result of difficult negotiations, including a tense discussion between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump, and US Vice President Dee Vance, which took place after Zelensky's visit to the White House on February 28. After that, the American side decided to temporarily suspend support for Ukraine, which, in turn, led to France's offer to provide intelligence.
