The French Auto Giant will help Ukraine make drones for the Armed Forces

French companies start the joint production of drones in Ukraine. This was stated by French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorton on LCI . His words suggest Le Figaro .

According to the minister, a large French car company will join the new project - its name is not disclosed. It combines efforts with the small and medium -sized enterprises of the France's defense sector to deploy drones at Ukrainian facilities.

"We are going to start an absolutely unprecedented partnership, within which a large company that produces French cars - I will not say its name, because it should declare it - it will combine efforts with the French small and medium defense business to equip production lines in Ukraine for the manufacture of drones," said Lecor.

The main purpose of the initiative is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern drones. At the same time, some drones will come to France to train her army, which is currently adapting to the new realities of fighting.

"Kiev will provide Paris with feedback on the combat use of drones, which will allow France to improve its military technologies," the minister added.

Lecorny emphasized that citizens of France will not participate in the implementation of the project: all production processes will be carried out by Ukrainian specialists. The minister also recognized Ukraine's technological advantage in the field of UAV development, emphasizing that France is just beginning active modernization in this field.

"We are lagging behind a too slow system of drone supply, but we have ambitions to fix it. Ukraine in this context is our natural and very experienced partner," he said.

This is a new stage of defense integration of Ukraine and France, which can be an important step in strengthening the drone advantage of the Armed Forces on the battlefield.
