A freeze on hostilities along the current front line could be one of the possible scenarios for ending the war in Ukraine. This was stated by Mykhailo Podoliak, advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, in an interview with Noviny.LIVE, emphasizing that the final decision on any peace model will be made by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Realistically speaking, yes. One of the possible scenarios is a freeze on the front line. And the president is talking about it. But I think that the decision about the final, about the scenario that will be the final, will be made by the president," Podoliak noted.
According to him, active consultations are currently underway at the level of the head of state and European leaders. Kyiv and its partners have a common understanding of the risks that Russia will continue to pose in the future, even in the event of a temporary ceasefire.
Separately, the advisor emphasized that Ukraine is conducting intensive negotiations with the United States. After the meetings in Beijing and Tianjin, in his opinion, the American side has begun to more realistically assess global processes and the importance of investments in ending the war on fair terms.
Podoliak emphasized that Washington is not interested in the new architecture of the world looking anti-American. That is why the US should support Ukraine so that the end of the war does not bring any benefits to Russia.
"If you want this restructuring not to look anti-American, you need to invest in Ukraine, invest in ensuring that the war ends more or less fairly. So that Russia gets nothing. No dividends," he summed up.
