From August 1, Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing new rules for purchasing and returning tickets to combat abuse. For some domestic flights, passengers will now need to confirm their identity via the Diya.Pidpis service.
At the first stage, the innovations will concern five popular areas:
-
No. 105/106 Odesa — Kyiv
-
No. 91/92 Lviv — Kyiv
-
No. 29/30 Kyiv — Uzhhorod
-
No. 12 Lviv — Odesa
-
No. 27/28 Kyiv — Chop
Tickets for these flights will only be available online, and sales through railway ticket offices will temporarily be suspended.
The UZ explains that such measures are being introduced to combat resellers who buy up tickets en masse and then resell them at higher prices or block seats.
Military personnel will still be able to use special services for booking tickets - through the Army+ application or on the UZ website. The innovation does not affect trains where a special reserve is provided.
Ukrzaliznytsia also announced that it plans to soon implement authorization in the mobile application via BankID to expand the possibilities of secure identity verification.
