Shakhtar Donetsk player Ivan Petryak in 2025 did not spend a minute on the field as part of the first team. Nevertheless, he stays at the club, trains with a youthful warehouse and does not intend to break the contract. The reason is the family.
In a comment to the Ukrainian Football, Petryak explained his decision: “I am 31 years old, I have a family, three young children. I have like a man to earn. I can't let them ask, "Dad and where are our yoghurts?" Therefore… Now it is necessary to endure this difficult time, to override. I cannot just take and break the contract with Shakhtar.
According to the footballer, the club fulfills all its contractual obligations, and he, in turn, is his own. He hopes that the situation will change in the summer when the transfer window opens.
"The summer transfer window is longer than the winter, the clubs are spent more on the equipment, so I hope that some option will appear," Petryak said.
It should be reminded that Ivan Petryak has previously performed in the Championships of Ukraine, Hungary and Russia, and is an experienced midfielder capable of strengthening more than one club. However, his career has recently stalled - in Shakhtar he lost his place at the base, and at the age of 31, the prospects of returning to a high level are increasingly ghostly.
