The gambling business in Ukraine breaks records: tax revenues increased by 74%

The gambling business in Ukraine continues to show positive trends even in times of war, becoming an important source of revenue for the state budget. In the first months of 2025, tax revenues from the legal gambling business amounted to UAH 735.63 million, which is 74.2% more than in the same period in 2024. This became a new record for the industry, which, despite difficult conditions, found ways for further development and stability.

The significant increase in tax revenues is the result not only of companies adapting to new regulatory requirements, but also of continuous work on business transparency. Legal gambling organizers are actively working to ensure transparency not only for players, but also for state control bodies. This allows them to maintain stability in the market and fulfill obligations to the state, despite the war.

However, not all aspects of the gambling business in Ukraine are positive. Illegal gambling establishments continue to operate alongside legal operators, which do not pay taxes and harm the country's economy. The illegal sector does not provide financial responsibility and transparency, which creates significant problems for the regulation of this area.

Despite this, the legal gambling business continues to grow and actively supports the Ukrainian army through charitable initiatives. The funds from such actions are directed to the purchase of necessary equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and support for volunteer organizations. This sector can become an important element of the country's economic stability if the state provides favorable regulatory conditions.
