Ukrainian drivers can expect a double increase in the cost of gasoline at the beginning of 2025. This week, the price of fuel will rise by 1 hryvnia per liter, and by the same amount at the end of the month.
What caused the price increase?
The rise in gasoline prices is due to several key factors:
- Logistical disruptions. Due to a storm on the Black Sea, fuel supplies are being delayed, which has already affected pricing.
- Rising world oil prices. Despite hopes for stabilization, oil prices are not showing any downward trend.
Last week, large gas station chains such as OKKO and WOG raised prices for gasoline and diesel by 1 hryvnia per liter. This week, other chains will follow suit.
Analysts predict that another price increase is possible within a month - in the third decade of January. After that, the cost of gasoline may increase by an average of 2 hryvnias per liter.
Current gasoline prices in Ukraine
As of January 8, the average cost of A-95 gasoline is 55.93 UAH/l, according to the A-95 Consulting Group .
The cheapest fuel is offered by:
- Cargo 7 – UAH 51.95/l;
- Factor – 52.50 UAH/l.
The highest prices were recorded at the following gas stations:
- SOCAR, OKKO, WOG – 58.99 UAH/l;
- Parallel – 57.99 UAH/l;
- Shell – 57.82 UAH/l.
Despite the significant increase in prices, experts urge people to remain calm: fluctuations in fuel prices are a common occurrence during the winter season. However, it is expected that the increase in the cost of gasoline will have a cascading effect on the prices of goods and services dependent on logistics.
