President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the decision to dismiss Lieutenant General Yuriy Sodol from the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This decision was made after it became known about the writing of a statement to the State Bureau of Investigation of the "Azov" headquarters, in which the general was accused of various crimes, including cooperation with Russia.
"I decided to replace the commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yuriy Sodol, with Brigadier General Andrii Hnatov," the president said in his evening address.
It will be recalled that Krotevych accused Sodol of incompetent command, which, according to him, led to high losses and loss of territory. Also, according to the media, Krotevich is asking the SBI to conduct an investigation into the general's possible work for Russia.
This is not the first attack against Sodol.
Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Defense Committee of the Council, Maryana Bezugl, began to criticize the general. Individual activists like Sternenko also spoke out against him.
Criticism of the Ukrainian command by individual activists, journalists and politicians has been repeated since the beginning of the war.
But it is the first time that one of his immediate subordinates - a high-ranking officer of one of the most famous Ukrainian units - has spoken openly against one of the representatives of the higher command of the Armed Forces.
Which can be an indirect sign that indicates serious problems at the front and within the Ukrainian army.
