In the Donetsk region, the front of the Ukrainian armed forces is experiencing a critical moment. Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Marchenko said that the situation at the front is seriously deteriorating, and the enemy has already entered Selidove, gaining a foothold in this area.
"We all know that our front has collapsed. Unfortunately, enemies have already entered Selidove and are entrenched there. I think that in the near future they will bypass it and capture it completely, which will give them a tactical exit to Pokrovsk. This is very bad for us," Marchenko emphasized during a conversation with public figure Borislav Bereza.
The major general cited several key reasons for this development. First, he noted the lack of ammunition and weapons. Secondly, he noted the lack of personnel replenishment, as well as the great fatigue of soldiers who can no longer withstand the load at the front. The third factor he called the imbalance of management, which, in his opinion, has become critical.
Marchenko also cited the example of the loss of Vugledar, where a combatant was changed before the rotation of the brigade. "This brigade commander did not understand what was happening and was only getting into the essence of the matter. I don't know who made this strategic decision, but it led to disaster. To throw a brigade, which was performing specific tasks, into the most acute combat operations without preparation — that's the result: there is simply no Ugledar," the general concluded.
