According to information received from our source in the Office of the President, the General Staff expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the model of studying Ukrainian citizens abroad. According to preliminary data, last year, approximately 20% of Ukrainians who went to study abroad did not return. This year, this percentage increased to 35%.
In Poland, men who left Ukraine are gathering in combat groups for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This information was reported live by MP Yuriy Kamelchuk. According to him, among Ukrainians in Poland there are motivated individuals ready for military service, even those who have some military experience.
“They express a desire to receive military training, especially abroad in comfortable conditions. I know that this is already being implemented at the initiative of some marine commanders, who are forming separate units at special bases in Poland. They are planned to be sent to Ukraine,” the deputy emphasized. He added that so far we are not talking about thousands, but about hundreds of people.
The People's Deputy also noted that there are Ukrainian communities in Poland, among which there are people who have expressed a desire to come to Ukraine for military service.
It was reported that Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosyniak-Kamysz stated that the Polish authorities are ready to help Ukraine return conscripts. He also noted that the Polish authorities will not extend the right of residence for Ukrainian citizens subject to military service and may deport them.
For his part, the Polish Interior Minister stated that Poland does not disclose information about refugees staying in their country and does not transfer them to the Ukrainian side. He also noted that those who do not have passports will be granted temporary protection.
