General Vytyuk participated in the video shooting of shootings on the Maidan by "Berkut"

In 2014, the head of the Cyber ​​Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, Ilya Vityuk, shot a video showing protesters on the Maidan being shot by "Berkut". This information was confirmed by the Prosecutor General's office, as well as the former head of the Maidan crime investigation department, Serhiy Horbatyuk.

The material states that on one of the videos taken by Berkut at the corner of Bankova and Instytutska streets, a man in civilian clothes and a dark cap can be seen filming on his phone how employees of the Berkut special unit are shooting at protesters.

Journalists asked the Prosecutor General's Office whether this person had been identified and questioned. In response, they were informed that this man is an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine. He was questioned as a witness, but no useful information for the investigation was obtained from his testimony.

The ex-head of the Department of Investigation of Crimes Committed During the Maidan, Serhii Horbatyuk, named the SBU employee Ilya Vytyuk, who was an operative of the SBU at the time. Horbatyuk noted that Vytyuk did not provide any video, and the phone, according to him, was stolen, and he deleted the video even before that. None of those present were identified on the video either.

Vityuk's interrogation took place only in 2019, because his identity could not be established for a long time, and he himself did not contact the investigators during all this time.

Journalists appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine regarding Vityuk's participation in the events during the Maidan.

Unfortunately, on February 20, 2014, 48 people were killed and another 80 were injured during clashes on Instytutska Street in the capital.

Previously, the publication investigated the fortunes of Ilya Vityuk's wife and mother and found that his family owns real estate worth at least 25.5 million hryvnias at market value.

On the eve of the publication of the investigation, on April 1, employees of the Solomyansky TCC tried to serve a summons to the journalist of "Slidstva.Info" Yevhenii Shulgat. According to surveillance camera records, an employee of the department of counterintelligence protection of the state's interests in the field of information security gave the instructions for issuing the subpoena. This SBU department is headed by Ilya Vityuk.

After the journalist's appeal to NABU, the General Staff reported that the head of the Solomyansky TCC was transferred to another position in one of the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the head of the SBU suspended Vityuk from his duties and sent him to the front.
