Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin is scheduled to be dismissed from his post and appointed ambassador to the Netherlands, People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko announced.
"The current Prosecutor General Kostin is planned to be dismissed from his post and appointed ambassador to the Netherlands," the deputy said in a statement.
This information appeared against the background of recent scandals related to the activities of his former deputy Dmitry Verbytsky. Recall that on October 8, Kostin signed an application for the dismissal of Verbytsky, who was at the center of the scandals. In particular, journalists from the "Schemes" program found out that Verbytsky lives in the elite Kiev cottage town "Konik", where his nephew purchased a house at a price six times lower than the market value.
Verbytsky, answering journalists' questions, denied the possibility of tax evasion, noting that he only knew about the price specified in the contract. He also explained that the deal was dictated by the defects of the house and the need for additional financial investments.
Journalists also established that Verbytsky's girlfriend received elite property worth at least UAH 52 million in 2024, despite the lack of sufficient official income for such acquisitions.
