The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially denied the information about the transfer of specialists from the Air Force to the infantry units. The statement emphasizes that such specialists remain in their positions, but certain categories of personnel are still joining the reinforcement of the ground and assault troops due to the difficult situation at the front.
This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Telegram.
"The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially informs that it was not planned and is not planned to transfer the acutely short-listed specialists of the Air Force's engineering and aviation service who maintain aircraft to infantry units," the General Staff said in a statement.
Instead, as noted, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the contrary, is increasing the full-time number of technical and flight personnel.
At the same time, certain categories of personnel of the Air Force, as well as other types and branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after preliminary training in training centers, strengthen the Ground, Airborne Assault Forces, etc.
As noted in the General Staff, the situation at the front is not easy, there is a shortage of infantrymen in many areas. "The decision to strengthen ground brigades on the front line at the expense of servicemen from units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces is a forced step by the military leadership to strengthen our defense," the General Staff added.
However, it was emphasized that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces prohibited the transfer from their positions of specialists in high-tech specialties and those who were trained abroad on foreign models of weapons and military equipment.
According to deputies, technicians and mechanics are being transferred en masse from aircraft units, which may affect the combat capability of aviation. Today, the parliament was unable to summon the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for an explanation regarding the transfer of Air Force specialists to the infantry.
