The General Staff of Ukraine has not proposed any initiatives regarding the mandatory mobilization of women into the ranks of the Armed Forces, and rumors surrounding this topic are artificial speculation. This was reported by Solomiya Bobrovska, a member of the National Security and Defense Committee, in a comment to Channel 24 .
Bobrovska emphasized that the current issue is not about compulsory service for women, but about the opportunity to receive basic military training. “For women, they are currently not offering compulsory service in the army, but only having experience in case of another war against Ukraine,” she noted, adding that this approach is part of the nationwide concept of national resistance.
At the same time, the deputy clarified that women aged 18-25, like men, must undergo basic military training or study at a military department, which will make them subject to military service.
Earlier, lawyer and military officer Yevheniya Zakrevska noted that the mobilization of women is a matter of time. However, according to Bobrovska, at the moment there are no direct initiatives from the General Staff regarding the mandatory mobilization of women.
