German AfD party proposes canceling payments to refugees from Ukraine

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has called for the abolition of Bürgergeld payments for Ukrainian refugees in Germany. One of the leaders of this right-wing political force, Tino Hrupalla, in an interview with the ZDF television channel accused Ukrainian migrants of "unfairly" receiving social assistance and called on them to return home.

Khrupalla stressed that the war in Ukraine "is not our war" and stressed the need to end it as soon as possible. According to him, one possible path to peace could be the concession of territories by Ukraine.

This statement caused a wide reaction in society and among politicians, as the issue of supporting Ukrainian refugees in Europe remains acute and controversial. The AfD party's proposals reflect a tougher stance on migrants and refugees, which is typical of far-right movements in Germany.

In the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, such statements highlight the existence of different approaches to resolving the humanitarian crisis and are a reminder of political disagreements within the European Union.
