A shocking tragedy has shaken the German city of Dorsten: a 16-year-old Ukrainian citizen has confessed to the murder of a 32-year-old woman and her 1.5-year-old daughter, who were also Ukrainian. This was reported by the Essen prosecutor's office and the Recklinghausen police.
The bodies were discovered on a forest path on June 29. A passerby initially thought the woman was sleeping, but soon came across the body of a child in the bushes nearby. Investigators confirmed that both victims were victims of violent death.
According to police, all three – the woman, the child and the suspect – lived in Dorsten. The man himself called emergency services at the scene and confessed to his crime. The motive for the crime remains unknown, as does the nature of his relationship with the victims.
The investigation is currently ongoing. Law enforcement officials do not rule out the emergence of new details in the coming days.
