Germany has announced the preparation of a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 1.1 billion euros. According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, this package will include more than one hundred thousand shells and missiles for the IRIS-T system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Olaf Scholz announced this at a briefing on February 16. According to him, the aid package will include:
- 36 armored and wheeled howitzers from industrial stocks;
- 120 thousand shells;
- 2 Skynex air defense systems;
- missiles for the IRIS-T system.
The Chancellor also recalled that Germany has allocated 1.7 billion euros to help Ukraine this year and has pledged to provide 6 billion euros in the coming years.
