In connection with the extremely high demand for electricity, which has set record figures, the press service of Ukrhydroenergo reported that the generation of electricity at hydroelectric power stations (HPP) and hydroelectric storage power plants (HAPP) takes place at a level similar to the active phase of work during a flood. There are 85 hydro units that work at HPPs and HPPs, some of them have undergone both major and current repairs.
The report states that due to a sudden cold snap that lasted for two days, electricity consumption reached record levels, and Ukrhydroenergo's hydroelectric power plants are operating at full capacity during peak consumption hours. It is noted that the production of electricity during this period is similar to the active phase of the flood.
