The Command of the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the appointment of Roman Hladky to the post of Chief of Staff. This decision became the subject of public discussions, but the command emphasized that Hladkyi successfully passed all the necessary checks of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Command of the Forces of Unmanned Systems reacted to the scandal that arose due to the appointment of Roman Hladky to the post of Chief of Staff of the Command of the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Captain 1st rank Roman Hladkyi is an officer with many years of experience in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has a relevant military education and significant experience of serving in leadership positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Including, in 2020 - 2023, in the positions of Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Command of the United Forces, and later Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The command reports that Hladky underwent specialized training in Canada, and with the beginning of full-scale aggression, he performed tasks in various directions, in particular, during the organization of anti-aircraft defense of the coast in Odesa.
According to the available information, during 2018-2019, Captain 1st rank Hladkyi passed all necessary checks by the Security Service of Ukraine, has permission to work with information with the highest degree of secrecy
The Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces reports that this type of military is in the stage of formation and development, which requires understanding, patience and, at times, silence. The command hopes that the media and media persons will seek official comment before publishing any information.
They note that they are always open to communication within the limits of the possible.
"You could already see the public part of our work at enemy airfields, warehouses and bases. There will be more to come," the statement added.
Since July 2016, Hladkyi held the position of Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Naval Armed Forces.
In 2018, he was removed from his position during an official investigation. At that time, the mass media wrote that it could allegedly be connected with both financial and economic violations, and with information about his wife's Russian citizenship.
In addition, it was noted that for the first two years after the start of the war, Hladky's wife and children apparently continued to live in the temporarily occupied Crimea, while the Ukrainian officer's daughter was engaged in swimming and successfully participated in competitions for the Central Sports Club of the Russian Army.
However, in 2018, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine denied the information that these facts could be the basis for an official investigation into Hladky. Instead, the main reason for his suspension was called "improper performance of official duties".
